Ar Lhao (born 1998, Lampang) is a still life photographer based in Bangkok. Without formal training in photography, he found his way into the medium through quiet observation. He is drawn to small things, forgotten corners, and those often overlooked by society.
He studied New Media Communication at the University of Phayao and became interested in using still life not just for aesthetics, but as a way to amplify silent voices. These range from invisible people in urban spaces to small living beings that make up our fragile ecosystems. For him, a cracked shell, a fallen insect, or even daily garbage can hold deeper meanings about how we live, ignore, and consume.
Much of his recent work explores the intersection between still life and biodiversity. He believes that photography can help people notice — really notice — the quiet lives around them. It’s not about making something look beautiful, but about making it seen.
Blending elements of documentary and fashion, his images often exist in the in-between. Between reality and constructed beauty, between quiet observation and subtle protest. He uses his lens not to shout, but to whisper truths.
He is still learning, still listening, and still believing that small things can shift big conversations.
